12 layers - 2 outer layers of laminate covering outer print, 8 sheets of newsprint

Yes, they are made out of recycled newspaper...

Each panel consists of 12 layers or a sandwich of paper.

• The outermost layer is a water resistant laminate
• fused to a printed image on recycled paper
• and sandwiched over 8 sheets of recycled newsprint.

While we love paper, it will fray in time, so we have added vinyl binding to ensure that corners and edges will wear well.

This bag, art by Elizabeth St. Hillaire Nelson, carried a laptop and a lot more stuff for 8 months. It traveled across the country, carried wet towels and drinks to the beach, was stuffed under airport seats, and took it all like a champ. And it was the coolest looking bag on the beaches of Miami.

We have two types of customers:

1. those who carry their Flashbag every day, everywhere, for months and months, with everything from laptops, to water bottles, to dogs... eventually the edges will wear like a pair of old jeans. But it will keep truckin!

2. those who collect the Flashbag- using it for special occasions and taking very good care....these bags will last forever and forever spark memories and nostalgia.
