Flashbags, PlayPumps partner for clean water

Burlington handbag maker Flashbags has partnered with PlayPumps International to support the nonprofit's mission to provide clean drinking water, improve public health and provide play equipment in Africa.
Flashbags' Ali Marchildon and Laura Cheney have created a PlayPumps bag featuring photographs of children playing on a merry-go-round, which pumps uncontaminated drinking water to a clean 2,500-liter water tank as it spins. Flashbags will donate 20 percent of the sales of the bags to PlayPumps during the organization's "100 Pumps in 100 Days" campaign, which begins today and runs through June 29.
