Ginny Joyner, artist, illustrator, decorative painter and educator, has had a varied and lively career since graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1986 with a BFA and awards in illustration.

A freelance illustrator in Colchester, Vermont for 19 years, Ginny's work has appeared in many publications and formats for clients as varied as Harper Collins Publishers, Sleeping Bear Press, W.S. Badger Co., The Baltimore Sun, Eating Well Magazine, Gardener's Supply, Taylor Wall Coverings, the Vermont Teddy Bear Company, and the Pajamagram Co.

Her skill in illustration allow her to work in a variety of media, including scratchboard, pen and ink, watercolor and acrylic. M is for Maple Syrup, a Vermont Alphabet, was published by Sleeping Bear Press in 2003 and continues to be an extremely popular history of the state, used in elementary schools to compliment programs in Vermont education.

Teaching watercolor and illustration classes at St. Michael's College, the Firehouse Center for the Visual Arts, and various craft schools in the area, Ginner offers her unique viewpoint to students.

Her work is represented in museum shops and galleries in Nantucket, MA, Shelburne, and Stowe,VT, as well at Frog Hollow Craft galleries in Burlington, Manchester and Middlebury, Vermont.

Born in Australia, Ginny has lived in Japan and many states along the Eastern seaboard, from Florida to Massachusetts, finally settling in rural Vermont in 1989.

She now lives and works at historic Fort Ethan Allen in Colchester with her daughter Lucie and their cats, Bear and Wilhamina.
