Warren Kimble - Folk Artist
Warren Kimble is widely known as America's most beloved contemporary folk artist. We were fortunate enough to meet him at the opening of his first retrospective exhibit held in the Round Barn at the Shelburne Museum in Shelburne, Vermont. His whimsical folk paintings of farm animals and the Vermont countryside flanked the walls of the very barn he painted in 1935. There couldn't have been a more perfect setting to display his extraordinary collection painted throughout his prolific career.

After graduating from the Fine Arts program at Syracuse University, Kimble initially pursued an advertising career which was followed by teaching, first at the elementary school level and later as a professor at Castleton College in Vermont. Throughout his varied career was an abiding love, understanding and regard for early American crafted furniture, architecture and folk art.
